The service alert or detour module provides a mechanism to track and distribute this information throughout the network. This interface allows the operator to create the alert in the system, schedule it, associate it with the affected transit components, and draw the geometry if applicable on the map.
While editing the service alert, the interactive map displays all of the patterns in the area. Clicking on one allows the user to easily associate it with the alert. To provide scheduling of the alert, multiple timeslots can be added to handle different scenarios. When this information is published the data is integrated into the trip planner module, distributed via the API and added to the GTFS-RT feed.
